I wish

Facebook is a great way to waste time and efforts that could go somewhere else. But from time on time it will show you some things that are happening in the world (if you follow the right people). A few days ago, i read about a goverment woman on Spain who said that if that country legalize Marijuana it would be commiting genocide (i assume she doesn't know the meaning of genocide). A few weeks ago i learned of a campaign on Twitter by Tom Morello (awesome guitarist) who was criticizing the anti-inmigrant law in Arizona. And also i found out that Bjork (yep, the singer) was on a campaign to stop a deal between Iceland and a huge energy firm.
Now, this wouldn't be very unusual, since we all come across such news. The interesting part is that Bjork didn't just made a statment and that's it. She is actually requesting answers and bringing public debate over an issue of great importance to her country. She made some serious reaserch about the topic, and among the questions she asks to this energy firm is a reference to a law just made by Obama. Yep, i get all my news on the internet. And he says: there will be no more taxpayer-funded bailouts. He also (on his presidential speech) talks about "an array of powerful interest groups and a partisan minority determined to block change". And then it hit me. When will our nation have a president with the courage to say that in public? How long do we have to wait before our "artists" start to care less for their look and their money, and actually use their incluence to promote big changes? Do we have to remain (as my family said early today) as a "human farm" that can only produce "labor force"? I mean, i know this post doesn't change anything right now. But somewhere, in the bottom of my mind (very hidden, since it doesn't have to come up often) lies the hope that there will be something equivalent to a lorentz equation, when since we don't know all the current variables there's a chance that this post will change the nation.
